2016 NFL FOOTBALL WEEK 9 – BIG GAMES

AWAY QUICK THOUGHTS HOME
Computer Hope There is no way the Falcons lose to the Bucs twice this year. Atlanta has to be begging for revenge at this game given that Tampa dealt Atlanta a 31-24 week one loss to begin the season, which also doubles as Atlanta’s worst season to date! The Falcons are for real. The come from behind victory over Green Bay showed it. The “should have won” loss to Seattle showed it. Matt Ryan is playing like an MVP and I can’t imagine Atlanta not winning big here. Computer Hope
Computer Hope Ben Roethlisberger is a game time decision in this one which I think is interesting because Big Ben has had some issues with injuries in the past. If the Steelers were 6-1 instead of 4-3 and if the were on a 3-game winning streak instead of a 2-game losing streak, I think Roethlisberger wouldn’t see the field. The fact that a loss would put Baltimore into the lead in the North makes things a bit murkier for Pittsburgh. Somebody has to win the North! Computer Hope
Computer Hope After almost getting their first win of the season, Cleveland is bound for a let down and the Cowboys are going to rebound big after beating the Eagles in OT and crush Cleveland. The problem here is that the Browns won’t be able to stop the Cowboys rushing attack led by the O-line. I like what Cleveland is doing and getting Jamie Collins is a big break for them defensively, but it won’t be enough. Dallas should have a great day defensively in a blowout. Computer Hope
Computer Hope The Chiefs are +9 in TO margin while the Jaguars are -8. It’s important because the Chiefs are likely to get out to a lead which is going to force Jacksonville to become mostly a passing offense. The Titans did this to Jacksonville last week and Blake Bortles responded by throwing the ball 50 times and not getting picked off once. The Jags are going to lose. We know that, but keep an eye on Bortles. Let’s see if he can put back-to-back games together. Computer Hope
Computer Hope Miami has become an interesting team having won two straight games over the Bills and Steelers on the strength of Jay Ajayi’s running ability. This week they get another home game which should be a victory even if Ryan Fitzpatrick doesn’t throw 5 picks. Despite being 3-4, the Phins are in the playoff hunt. It’s likely that Baltimore, Buffalo & Tennessee lose today & if they do combined with a Miami win, the Dolphins would just outside the Wild Card. Computer Hope
Computer Hope To me this is a game where the Giants have to show they are for real. The Eagles are no pushover but they have some issues without Lane Johnson at RT and the Giants defense has played very well this season. New York has a schedule where they could peel off some wins and make a big push but they can’t afford let downs, and that’s a possibility with a defense like Philly’s. Both teams are 4-3 so this is a battle for second place behind the Cowboys. Computer Hope
Computer Hope This is why losing to the Texans last week or the Titans earlier in the year matter. The Lions come into this game 4-4 and with Minnesota looking terrible, Detroit could pull off a win & get to 5-4. If Minnesota loses & Green Bay wins, both of them will be 5-3 leaving the Lions a half game back. Except Detroit should be 7-2 putting them 1.5 games up! This is a must win for Minnesota or else they risk the season going down in flames. Biggest game of the week. Computer Hope
Computer Hope I don’t know if it was season saving, but the Panthers got a HUGE home win last week over Arizona 30-20 and will look to build on that momentum in Los Angeles this week against the Rams. Cam Newton didn’t play particularly well or particularly bad against the Cardinals and it’ll be interesting if he can figure things out a bit more. My issue is that the Rams defense can get salty so if Newton takes a big hit, will he be able to refocus the team and lead? Computer Hope
Computer Hope A win here could move New Orleans up 4-5 spots in the NFC playoff standings depending on how the other games this week turn. The Saints got a HUGE win last week in New Orleans when they took down the Seahawks 25-20 & they are rewarded with a road game against the worst team in the NFL that will be playing without Carlos Hyde. I can’t imagine a scenario in which the Saints lose this one. By the way Sheldon Rankins makes his NFL debut! Computer Hope
Computer Hope San Diego has to be FIRED UP after last week where they gave a game to the Broncos. That was a tough loss that pushed the Bolts to 3-5, but this week they’ll get a chance at redemption by hammering away at the Titans. To me this feels like the most interesting game of the week. This should mark the first game of a tremendous run the Chargers will go on to finish the season without losing, but Tennessee could pose a signficant challenge with the run. Computer Hope
Computer Hope This game couldn’t come at a worse time for Indianapolis. The Packers rank #7 in sack differential while the Colts rank dead last in the NFL. Also note that Aaron Rodgers has seemingly figured out what was ailing him recently & has torn the NFL up the last couple of weeks. Combine that with a terrible Colts defense and you get the makings of a game that Indy might not only lose 49-3, but a game in which Andrew Luck’s health should be a concern. Computer Hope
Computer Hope These teams aren’t quite the antithesis of each other but they are opposite. Oakland is really struggling defensively and is relying on their offense to put up big points to get wins. It’s worked out so far as Oakland is 6-2. The Broncos of course rely on an incredible defense, but Denver’s offense isn’t as bad as Oakland’s defense relatively speaking. I’ve said all along I think Oakland is a year away and I believe the Broncos defense will prove that case this week. Computer Hope
Computer Hope Three weeks ago I would have believed this game could potentially be a Super Bowl preview game, but Buffalo has went into the tank and Seattle hasn’t done much better. For Buffalo this feels almost like a must win given the New England’s dominance atop the AFC East along with the AFC West beginning to look like they might get 3 teams in the playoffs. I don’t think the Bills can afford to go 4-5, but beating the Seahawks in Seattle is a tall order. Computer Hope
